从事影视剧事业20余年的他，参演过40多部影视剧。在诸多角色中，让观众记住他的角色是“贺龙”。无论是《外交风云》《聂荣臻》等影视剧，还是话剧《南昌起义》，他饰演的贺龙元帅惟妙惟肖，受到了观众认可和喜爱。

看过《红色桑植》剧本后，他非常激动，毅然决定来到桑植，在元帅家乡工作生活。为了更真实地再现元帅形象，他拜谒元帅故里，参观元帅故居、贺龙纪念馆，和当地群众面对面交流，还私下拜师学习桑植方言。他说，这样做是为了接地气，听听乡音，汲取养分，把表演做到极致！
